HOLYOKE — As he seeks a third term as mayor, Alex Morse announced his campaign team. State Rep. Aaron Vega and former city solicitor Elizabeth Rodriguez-Ross will serve as co-chairs working to reelect Morse.
“I am looking forward to working with my friend and colleague, Mayor Alex Morse. I believe the city is headed in a positive direction, and I support the many initiatives Mayor Morse has championed,” Vega said, who has represented the city at the State House for close to three years.
Rodriguez-Ross is a partner in the Springfield law office of Robinson and Rodriguez-Ross, LLC and an adjunct professor at Western New England University. She worked for a year as a solicitor for the city but resigned in 2013 following criticism from city councilors about continuing to work in the private sector.
Recent transplant to the city David Grizzanti will serve as Morse’s campaign manager. The Pennsylvania native has experience working in congressional and mayoral races, according to a press release.
Rosa Pantoja, co-owner of Pantoja Tax Service on Hillside Avenue, will serve as the campaign treasurer.
The team will open campaign headquarters, 1548 Northampton St., this weekend and celebrate with an event from 6 to 8 p.m. Morse will address attendees and showcase a new campaign advertisement, according to a press release.
“I am very proud of the campaign team we’ve assembled, and I can’t wait to reconnect with our dedicated, passionate volunteers,” Morse said. “The city of Holyoke is moving forward, and I am eager to get out knocking on doors and carrying this message to the people of Holyoke. Our campaign is determined to continue the work we started four years ago, and ensure that Holyoke keeps moving in the right direction.”
